Message from the Women's Committee

14 APR 2020

Hello Ladies of RattleSnake Point Golf Club

We hope this note continues to find you and your families safe and healthy during these challenging times.  We wanted to take this opportunity to provide our ladies membership with an update on the Club and share with you some of the things that were discussed during our recent Ladies’ Day Committee meeting.

With the current provincial restrictions regarding staying at home and social distancing, the Club will not be opened until the government regulations for non-essential services are lifted.  Once the course can open, there will be some new operating procedures to ensure the safety of our members which may include, and not limited to, such things as raised cups on the green, extended tee times to 12 minutes, club house will likely be closed, limited practice areas if any, limited service at the half way, etc.  Specific details will be shared to the full membership by Craig Cupido in due course.  Accordingly, this will impact the Ladies’ Day activities as we likely won’t be able to have social activities before or after golf.  Due to social and physical distancing guidelines we will be using tee times rather than a shotgun format until it is safe to do so.  We will have our regular blocks of tee times on Tuesday afternoons, play our games and head back home after.  Tuesday games will continue in a similar format to last year with the exception of scrambles and some team games that are not conducive to social distancing requirements.  We want to encourage everyone to download the Golf Genius app as we will be required to enter scores directly into the app as we likely not have individual score cards in the short term and this will limit the need to interact with the Pro Shop staff.

We are also planning to move some of the social events out, later in the season with the hopes that we will be able to get back to some form of normal part way through the season.  We are working on a revised fixtures list but we did want to highlight that the Ladies Member Guest will be moved to July 21.  Other planned Club events such as the Member Member and Charity event are also being rescheduled to August and September respectively so we can also enjoy the social after golf activities.  Some regular events such as some of the Nine and Dine and the Club opening events will have to be cancelled or deferred.

As we continue to monitor the changes to ensure the safety and health of our members and staff, we will need to be patient and flexible so we can all get out to enjoy the course as soon as possible.  As we get more information we will share it with you either through the Club notices or writings to our ladies group as appropriate.

We are all anxious to start the season and the course preparations are well underway by the Turf Staff.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have during these uncertain times.  Please contact Marilyn at marilyn.mcnevitts@bell.net, or Nate at nrobinson@clublink.ca
