Please welcome back Derek Guest to the RattleSnake turf team as our Assistant Superintendent working alongside Bill and Christine.
Derek has a Parks & Forestry Recreation degree and started his golf career at Credit Valley GC (2002-2007), then worked at RattleSnake Point (2007-2012), Georgetown GC (2014-2022), and rejoined our RattleSnake team earlier this season.
Derek grew up in Georgetown and currently resides in Acton with his wife Vickie (who coincidentally used to work at RattleSnake) and has a rescue cat named Cooper.
Derek and Vickie (who is a travel agent) like to vacation in tropical destinations such as Aruba, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
When Derek is not working at the golf club (non-daylight hours), he enjoys playing hockey (goalie) and planning restoration on a Ford Model B (1933).
Please say hello to Derek the next time you see him on the golf course, even if he is knee-deep in mud fixing our irrigation systems (pictured below fixing a burst pipe on CopperHead #9 recently) or tending to the myriad of other things that keep our golf course in fine condition.
