STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF CLUBLINK AND GEORGETOWN GOLF CLUB

ClubLink and Georgetown Golf Club wish to confirm the verbal altercation that occurred Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2020, on the 18th hole of Georgetown Golf Club.  

It is clear that the incident involved racist language toward one of the parties.  Out of an abundance of caution and concern for safety, the police were called and both parties were asked to stay apart and leave the property after their 18th hole.

ClubLink has a strict Code of Conduct that demands mutual respect among employees, members, and guests. We continually strive to offer members a safe and inclusive environment, operating with a zero tolerance approach regarding such behavior.

The incident which occurred yesterday unquestionably runs counter to our values as an organization. And any incident involving racism will not be tolerated. 

Incidents such as this require immediate action. To this end, the individual in question who made the racist remarks has been expelled and banned from visiting any ClubLink property.

Management has been in contact with Halton Region Police regarding this incident, including immediately after the incident occurred, and will continue to engage with police to assist any on-going investigation into this matter.
