Saying Goodbye
27 OCT 2020
We have now said goodbye to one of the guys who has been a huge part of RattleSnake since the day this place opened. Mike Hartnett has been a part of the RattleSnake team for 22 years! We are very sad to see him go. Mike has moved to Nelson, British Columbia to be close to his family and watch his grandkids grow up.
I have had the pleasure of working with Mike for the past 12 years, and he has been involved with almost every part of the golf operation. Following his retirement from teaching, Mike stepped up when we needed someone to manage the golf services department. This was a temporary position for Mike but he knew at the time we needed someone we could count on. During this time, he identified a great candidate for this position and trained this person to take over allowing Mike to return to his position as a starter. This is the kind of guy Mike is, always willing to pitch-in, cover a shift, and help someone out.
Mike is loved by the membership, some of them he’s known since the day RattleSnake opened. He was always a happy smiling face, and not once in my 12 years did I ever see Mike upset or overwhelmed.
We are going to miss Mike and want to wish him well in the next chapter of his life.
Thank you Mike for a great 22 years! Your dedication, hard work and positive attitude have set the standard for us all!
