Pace of Play

20 AUG 2026

At RattleSnake Point, we want every member and guest to enjoy their round from the first tee to the final green. Pace of play is one of the biggest factors in the overall golf experience, and it is something we can all help improve.

Our goal is not to rush anyone’s round. It is to keep groups moving, avoid unnecessary delays and make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience on the course.

Pace of Play

Our target times are:

  • Monday–Friday before 10am: approximately 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours
  • Monday–Friday after 10am: approximately 4 hours to 4 hours 15 minutes
  • Weekends before 10:00 a.m.: approximately 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours
  • Weekends after 10:00 a.m.: approximately 4 hours to 4 hours 15 minutes

These are intended as guidelines, not a race. The pace of the course can vary depending on conditions, but we ask every group to do their part to stay with the group ahead.

Falling Behind?

If your group is experiencing a significant delay or feels like you are being held up, please call the Golf Shop. Our team can come out to the course, assess the situation and help get things moving.

The earlier we know about an issue, the easier it is for us to help.

Small Things That Make a Big Difference

Be ready to play. Think ahead, choose your club and be prepared when it is your turn.

Play ready golf. When it is safe and appropriate, there is no need to wait for the player who is technically farthest from the hole.

Be efficient with your cart. Plan ahead and avoid unnecessary trips back and forth.

Keep ball searches moving. Under the Rules of Golf, you have three minutes to search for a ball. If it is unlikely to be found, consider playing a provisional when appropriate.

Think ahead around the green. Park your cart and leave your clubs in a convenient position so you can head to the next tee without unnecessary delays.

Keep moving between shots. The goal is not to rush your golf—it is to eliminate the small pockets of wasted time that add up throughout a round.

Leave the Course Better Than You Found It

Taking care of the course is another shared responsibility.

Repair your ball marks. Fix your own and, when possible, repair an extra one or two.

Repair your divots. Use the provided sand/seed mix where available and follow the Club’s divot-repair practices.

Be mindful of cart traffic. Follow directional signs and cart restrictions, avoid sensitive areas around greens and tees, and use designated entrances and exits. Spreading cart traffic helps protect the turf and keeps the course in better condition for everyone.

A Better Experience Starts With All of Us

Pace of play and course care are shared responsibilities. A few small habits from every group can make a significant difference over the course of a day.

Play ready. Care for the course. Keep it moving.

Thank you for doing your part to help make RattleSnake Point an enjoyable experience for everyone.
