Men’s Captain Note:

First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all 53 Guests and 53 Members that came together to make this year’s event a great success.

On behalf of our Committee, we thank you so much for your participation.

Early Thursday morning, the birds were chirping and so were all our players in their matching colour coordinated team outfits.

The excitement was in the air and everyone was thrilled to be part of this two-day event.

I also want to thank all the golf course staff that were up before the birds that morning to get everything prepared and setup for our event.  Please thank the staff next time you see them, including the starters, bag drop, golf services, golf shop, halfway house, food & beverage, and turf staff who were all dedicated over these two days to make our Member Guest tournament such a success.

All the golf carts were ready to go with ice cold drinks, some swag, and David Roberts’ Nuts also known as “Ron’s Nuts”.  Please thank Ron Merlocco for providing his Nuts when you see him.

All matches were played without any issues, and we even had two holes in one !!!!, from the same guest which the first one did not count, “but in was a great story”; congratulations to Brett Walker for draining it the second time and I hope he enjoyed the free drink.

A special thank you must go out to our Turf staff: Bill McAllister, Christine Kumagai, and their teams; these people are the hardest workers at our Club. Our two golf courses were groomed to perfection, the greens were fast, bunkers were great, and the fairways were cut nice and short.

Our Food & Beverage staff also did an outstanding job in delivering amazing meals, drinks, and ensuring the half-way house was fully stocked to give our Members and Guests all they needed. Thanks to Beverly Finlayson and her team as well as Chef Ryan De Leon and his brigade.

But let us not forget our serving staff who provided stellar service, smiles, and overall satisfaction fulfilling the slogan “WE AIM TO PLEASE” And that we did!!!

Congratulation to all participants, raffle winners, prize recipients, and of course the winning teams.

We are now reviewing this year’s event and assure you that next year we will be bigger and better so keep sending feedback and suggestions to me at otto@birch-trail.com.

Last but not the least, our Pro-Shop staff, Stephanie, Lorelle, Spencer, Chris, and Steve worked hard to support our event and are the best in the business. I must tell you they are great to work with so please make sure you buy them a drink or two as they work very hard and long hours.

And to our Committee team (Dan Colagiacomo, Dave Thorman, Peter Gee, and Amarjit Tathgur), who took care of some very important responsibilities, I thank you for all for the help and without their input this event would not have come together as well as it did.

As your Captain, I will do whatever it takes to make your membership the best value for your money.

Thank You and see you at the Club!

Sincerely,

Otto Trozzolo, Men’s Captain
