Golf updates from your Head Professional Nate Robinson

12 JUN 2020

It's been an incredible start to the year and it is great to see everyone out enjoying the golf course. Please review these important golf updates:

Golf Course Announcements

Switching the flow on sidewinder, and teeing off 10, has given our turf staff the chance to continue maintenance and repairs on the retaining wall of the Sidewinder #6.

The range will now open at 8 a.m. on Mondays, allowing for maintenance. This goes for both range bookings, and range use prior to tee-times. Remember range/practice bookings are available for all Rattlesnake members, 5 days in advance, for one-hour time slots.  Go to: www.golfgenius.com and enter GGID# RSRANGE to book your spot.

We ask that you always pick up your tees from the tee decks following your tee shot. Leaving tees puts our staff and other members who pick these up at risk and isn’t very visually appealing.

Member Events – Match Play

Over the next couple of weeks, all of our Match Play Events will be running.  The Men’s Individual Net, Gross and Team Match Play brackets are now posted, please visit www.golfgenius.com and enter the event-specific GGID# for more information.

I know Golf Genius can seem challenging to use at first, but I encourage everyone to do so! It allows you to sign up for events, check information, results, and post photos.  Once you do this a couple of times everything you need is usually just one click away.

To make your life easier use the Member Event Portal GGID# RSME20 to see the Member Event Calendar and access all the event portals.  Check next week’s Newsletter as we start our helpful tips to make you a Golf Genius genius.

Golf Canada Score Entry

One of the biggest changes with the new World Handicap System is that ESC (Equitable Score Control) is max net double bogey. This requires the players to know what your playing handicap is and where you get strokes. The best way to do this is to enter your scores on the Golf Canada app using the "Hole by Hole" feature instead of the one score entry. In the settings, you can change it so that by default, you enter your scores Hole by Hole.

For more information on the World Handicap System visit https://gao.ca/golfer-resources/about-handicapping/world-handicap-system/

Score Auto-Posting for Member Events

A reminder that for all Men's Night, Ladies' Days, Senior’s League and Member Events, the Professional Staff will be posting your scores for you through Golf Genius. If you have duplicate scores entered, please let us know so we can adjust.
