Making the Most of Fall Golf

Making the Most of the Golf This Fall

As we move into the final weeks of the golf season, there are a few changes that naturally impact tee-time availability. During peak season, our first tee times begin as early as 6:30 a.m.–7 a.m. each day. At this point in the season, we are starting closer to 8:30 a.m.–9 a.m., while the sun is also setting much earlier.

That means we have the same level of member demand, but 2–3 fewer hours of daylight to accommodate that demand.

Our team is working hard each day to maximize the tee sheet and provide as many opportunities to play as possible. Here are a few simple ways members can help maximize their chances of securing a tee time through the ballot:

1. Give Yourself a Wider Window

When submitting a ballot, we recommend a minimum 2.5-hour window. One-hour windows, particularly for earlier morning golf, are much less likely to be successful as demand is concentrated into a smaller number of available tee times.

If your schedule allows, widening your window to 3–4 hours gives you the best opportunity to be placed in the ballot.

2. Check the Calendar Before You Ballot

As we wrap up the golf calendar, we still have a number of smaller events taking place throughout the week. Before submitting your ballot, take a quick look at the Member Calendar to see where events may be taking place.

Understanding which course and times have events can help you make a more informed ballot request and improve your chances of finding a tee time that works.

3. If You Want to Play, Ballot

The 5-day booking window can be a great option for last-minute golf, but as we move further into the fall, availability inside of that window can become very limited.

If you know you want to play, submitting a ballot is still your best option. The earlier you put your request in, the more opportunity we have to find a tee time that works for your group.

4. Be Prepared for Frost

As temperatures continue to drop, frost delays become more common in the fall. If a frost delay occurs, communication will be sent out as soon as possible.

Our team works to catch up the tee sheet throughout the day following a delay, but as we get deeper into October, frost can become a regular part of the morning.

Our Goal: Get You Out on the Course

We know there is still plenty of golf to be played, and our goal is to maximize every available tee time and accommodate as many members as possible each day.

By giving yourself a wider ballot window, checking the calendar, balloting in advance and being prepared for fall conditions, you can put yourself in the best position to find a tee time and make the most of the remaining season.
