Golf Fore the Cure
2020 was a meaningful year for our Golf Fore the Cure event on September 20th.
Earlier in the summer, we lost one of our own members, Sheila Smith, to a battle with breast cancer. Sheila was a vibrant and active member of our club as a past Ladies Captain and friend of many.
We hosted our event in memory of Sheila and were able to put together a last minute covid-friendly scramble tournament that saw 72 golfers participate. We sold raffle tickets and a portion of each green fee was donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
We were able to raise a combined total of $14,280!!
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to participate in the event or donate to our cause. We hope to put on an even more spectacular event next year.
Men's Night Charity Day
Congratulations to the Men’s Night section who are very proud to announce raising over $30,000.00 on September 17th.
The money will be distributed between Food4Kids, Lighthouse, Carpenter Hospice, Halton’s Women’s Place, Wellspring and Ian Anderson House.
We want to thank everyone who paid and participated, and those who made donations and bought raffle tickets even though they were unable to play.
It's an astonishing sum of money raised given the circumstances and comes at a time these charities need as much support as possible.
Thank you to everyone who participated and all you did to make this day so successful and for supporting our charities.
