Mid-Season Slump: Tips for Overcoming It

As we find ourselves in the midst of the golfing season, many of us might be experiencing a mid-season slump. The dry weather is firming up the fairways, making longer drives possible, but it's also making the greens difficult to hold.

Know Your Carry Numbers

Understanding your carry numbers into greens is crucial to allowing for the appropriate rollout. While most golfers use laser yardage finders or GPS, it’s important to consistently check pin locations and do the necessary calculations. All ClubLink courses utilize the “Red, White, Blue” flag system, making it easy to determine the distance from the front of the green to the pin and from the pin to the back of the green.

Check Your Ball Mark

When repairing your ball mark, take note of how far the ball has released from the pitch mark. This step is crucial for making accurate club selections. Observing the release distance helps in adjusting your approach and ensuring that your shots hold the green.

Simple Calculations for Better Scores

With a few simple calculations, we can all hit more greens, shoot lower scores, and ultimately have more fun on the course. Taking the time to know your carry distances, adjusting for rollout, and being mindful of the green conditions can make a significant difference in your game.
